Demolitions

Sometimes, when properties become too dilapidated, they must be demolished for the health and safety of the community as well as the aesthetics of the neighborhood. Verona regularly applies for grant funds including Act 152 funds and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. Properties for which demolition funds have been requested include:

• 812 1st Street
• 204 W Railroad Ave
• 473 Union Street

Vacant Property Recovery Program

Verona participates in the Vacant Property Recovery Program (VPRP) offered through and administered by Allegheny County.
