County Hauling picks up garbage every week on Thursday and recycling is collected every other week.

Place your garbage and recycling at the curb for pickup.

Procedure & Regulations

While unlimited, garbage should be kept at a reasonable level of no more than 10 bags per collection.

All household trash should be placed in trash bags (not grocery bags, for example) before being placed in the trash can with a secure lid.

Garbage service includes normal household waste, yard waste such as lawn clippings, furniture, and bundled carpet cut in 4-foot lengths.

Please place no more than one bulk item per week.

For disposal of construction, demolition or remodeling material, please contact County Hauling for disposal rental information or contact the Borough to obtain a dumpster permit, if applicable, to rent a dumpster from the company of your choice.

For information regarding recyclable vs non-recyclable items please view the County Hauling recycling flyer.

Service Restrictions

Prohibited from Collection

Due to state and local regulations, the following materials are prohibited from collection: automotive materials; batteries; tires; wet paint; chemicals, liquids and hazardous waste such as asbestos, gasoline or oil.

Appliances with refrigerants (freon) may only be collected if a sticker is placed on the appliance certifying that the refrigerants have been removed.

Lawn Waste

Brush, branches or tree limbs may not exceed four inches in diameter. Material must be bundled not to exceed four feet in length and no more than 8 inches in diameter.

Wet Paint

Paint will be picked up after the lid has been removed and the paint has been absorbed by shredded newspaper, kitty litter or old mulch. When the can has dried, leave the lid off and include the can with the weekly pickup. No wet paint will be accepted.

Needles can be disposed of in the weekly trash if they are in a container such as a plastic milk carton or empty coffee can. All containers should be sealed with tape so the needles cannot fall out.
