Volunteer Fire Fighter
The Verona Volunteer Fire Company is always looking for extra hands to serve the community. Their department is currently accepting applications for active firefighters (Ages: 18+) and junior firefighters (Ages: 16-17). All training is conducted in house or provided by Allegheny County Fire Academy. VVFC supplies all necessary personal protective equipment and firefighting equipment. Once voted into the organization, you can start responding to emergency calls and training with the other members.
If you would like to learn more or are interested in joining the fire family, stop down to the station at 465 Parker Street on any Monday night 6:30pm-9pm, message their social media pages or visit their Contact Page to send an email.
Parks & Recreation Board Alternates
The Parks & Recreation Board serves in an advisory capacity to the Borough Council on matters related to park facilities and serves a critical role in planning and implementing community events taking place within the Borough’s parks. They are currently looking for alternates. If interested, please contact Vince Flotta at vjflotta@veronaborough.org.
Planning Commission Board
If interested in being on the Planning Commission Board, please submit a letter of interest detailing any skills relevant to planning you may have to admin@veronaborough.org. More information on the Planning Commission Board can be found here.
Civil Service Commission Alternate Members
The commission is charged with establishing testing and selection criteria for full time entry level and promotion positions within the Police Department. If interested, please email admin@veronaborough.org.
